MRFAC History
|
| MRFAC, Inc., formerly known as the (Manufacturers Radio Frequency Advisory Committee) traces its origins to 1954. It was for many years an arm of the National Association of Manufacturers. For the past 25 years, MRFAC has been an independent firm. MRFAC is based in Leesburg, VA.
Purpose MRFAC performs a wide range of frequency coordination and licensing services for industrial radio users - - those for whom private, internal use radio systems fulfill essential productivity and safety functions. Besides frequency coordination, these services include contour analysis, Form 601 preparation, and Schedule K (Required Notification) filing, to name a few. MRFAC also represents the voice of U.S. manufacturers and industrial radio users generally before the Federal Communications Commission, and on Capitol Hill. More specifically, MRFAC provides a means by which industrial radio issues (such as narrowbanding) may be discussed, debated and molded into a consensus. Through Washington counsel, MRFAC then advocates those views before radio spectrum policy-makers at the FCC and in Congress.
